Transcript of the recording
I decided to add a new format into my recordings and call it The Weekly Reflection.
To mix things up and keep myself accountable to track my own progress in public.
This format is
- To look back on the week
- Impressions
- General talk
- What’s ahead short term
I strongly believe having a public journal will be beneficial, in case I want to go back a year from now and listen to what I was doing to build the Super Hustle.
Anyways, looking back:
We are now about 2 weeks in with The Super Hustle and I am still finding ways to build an acceptable concept.
But, with time comes more clarity and I am pretty satisfied with the current results
- Published a few blog posts
- Recorded and published 7 episodes for this podcast on Spotify & YouTube
- Gained some new people into the Discord channel
But the biggest achievement is me finishing the first course with the title:
How To Raise Your Rates As A Freelancer
And here is what I wanted to share
- I wrote a gazillion playbooks and documents but never a course or guide
- I was planning on crafting a short guide that ended up over 13000 words
- I wrote it all from the “wrist” sort of speak and no AI or research was needed.
Simply because it was 100% written from my past experience and I think this is the kind of content I want to provide.
Because it’s authentic.
And I think because of that, I will be able to succeed long-term with The Super Hustle and be labeled as a useful platform that contains a lot of free information.
Because I want to provide 90% of the resources for free but with direct solutions rather than some vague explanation that doesn’t help anyone.
It also made me realize that they will have a hard time copying the content when it’s all based on my personal experience so that becomes a big blocker for those with bad intention.
Anyways, I felt it was a solid achievement. Something I have not felt in a long time.
Sure, the course is still filled with spelling or grammar mistakes, but I plan to work on it the couple of weeks to improve the structure.
I just need to take a break and move to the next subject I want to write about.
It’s funny. Of all the things, finishing this gave me more satisfaction than anything else I did this past year.
What’s Ahead?
Well, I have a few short term goals
- Build in manual approval into the Discord, so we can keep out the spam
- Start working on the second free course and hopefully have it written by next week
- Create a content plan
The content plan
So here’s my line of thinking:
The Super Hustle started 2 weeks ago.
I went with the following approach
- Add some baseline content
- Record enough podcasts
- Securing all Social Media Handles
Now that I have all that, it’s about stability. Building a business is a marathon, and I plan to work on a schedule that works for me.
I would most likely think something like:
- Create 2 recordings per week, MAYBE even 3 PLUS the Weekly Reflection format
- Write 1 blog post per week
- Start expanding to social media, with Instagram first, followed by Pinterest
So the goal is to find a stable pace and I think I might write about it, as this is a perfect public use case on how I build something from scratch and add more elements to the mix along the way.
What Else?
Nothing much so far. But I am betting this will be just the start
Oh wait I forgot, I wrote a blog post where I will make attempts to build a dropship store as a case study, which I want to highlight the difficulties.
But more on that in the next Weekly Reflection.
See you next week!
