In Episode #2 of The Weekly Reflection, I cover some of my goals and why I will pivot a little bit on the recording/podcast area.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my milestones and finished the guide “How To Start A Niche Blog” with over 15000 words. You can read the guide HERE.
Transcript of the recording:
Welcome back to the weekly reflection.
Looking back this week, I made some significant progress.
Overall, very happy with a close call in meeting my goals for the week.
I made a few adjustments on the website, with a focus on content.
Especially finishing, or almost finishing the second free guide which is call “how to start a niche blog”
I wasn’t expecting I would be able to write more than 15000 words in almost one go but here we are.
HOWEVER, I do have some concerns at the moment specifically about recording.
And I want to share this perspective for listeners.
3 weeks ago, I started the super hustle. And I was focusing on 3 main pillars
- Create content (blogging)
- Create the first guide
- And embed more ways into building a solid reputation across the board, which is in this case podcast and monologue recordings.
HOWEVER,
I was thinking back this week, and with the pace I am currently at, there’s no chance I could record 3 times per week.
Not that I am NOT going to record, because I do want to prioritize the weekly reflection, and keep it steady each week. But I most likely need to tune down on the mid week recordings.
The reasons are:
- I need to build a social media strategy first with a focus on Instagram and Pinterest
- I want to expand the knowledge base on the website which requires more content writing
- I have a goal to publish 4 free guides first before scaling
- And I want to reach 50 blog posts first as a baseline in my blog content
So realizing that, It’s a tall order to complete. Luckily I already published quite a bit and I feel if I add mid-week or extra recordings in my workflow I might lose momentum.
The lesson is that I made early decisions on where pivots on what to focus on are critical.
After all, I am building something sustainable. So I had to compromise on that.
Do I feel happy about it? Actually yes, knowing exactly where I should be focusing now is as equally important as not knowing.
One of the other reasons is that I am building a new internal framework from scratch, and since this level of content creation is new for me ( I am talking about guides, podcasts etc) I need to find a way to balance and work out internal processes.
After all, I am not planning on doing this alone all the time, so I can onboard someone for layouts/social media designs etc
All in all, I am extremely satisfied about another big week.
What else is coming?
- Finish the second guide
- Work on some user experience issues because some links are not working
- Optimize the blog category sections
- Expand some details on mentorship and coaching
But that’s it!
Thanks for listening, and see you next week!
